hist sources qoutes?

I know i might sound stupid
but when you are using a source do you use the " sign or the '

and also this thread can be used to explain how you would incorporate the sources into your answers!! as i have problems with this and it just seems so boring having to keep on sayin source one shows this
source 2 shows this, as confirmed by s1 or s2 (can you write it like s1 s2??)

u can use either
Refer to teh author of the source by their name?

Well if all it requires is "Source 1/2" then no matter how boring it is, you only have to do it for, what, 2 hours?

i mean is there any other way of expressing
source one says that ....
source 2 says that...., if you keep on repeating youselft
the essay doesnt seem to flow
You don't actually need to write "Source" every time you refer to a source. Stating merely the number or letter assigned to the source is sufficient - and, more importantly, it saves time.

e.g. "A states that... whereas B is of the view that..."

To mix it up a bit, you could refer to the source by author, "Hohenlohe is of the view that".

"x" denotes speech, 'x' a written source. But Americans use "x" for written quotes too, so it is vaguely interchangable.
