    how many marks

it does produce 4 genertically diverse haploid cells

haploid so it can fuse with a haploid secondary oocyte which will produce a diploid zygote which then dicides etc...

genitically diverse, so gentically diverse offspring are produced

this is from a mark scheme...the qs was wats the significance of meosis in spermatogenesis....Meosis reduces the chromosome number from haploid to diploid so diploid number is restored at fertilisation, it results in genetic variation and four gametes are produced.
    hope dis helps..

the chromatids of the bivalents tangle and cross during Meiosis I which creates the genetic variation

ya the crossing over causes exchange of genes between chromatids..which leads to genetic variation.

Crossing over and independent assortment aren't the same thing.

crossing over is when chaisma are formed, and random assortment is when the line up randomely at the equator of the spindle in metaphase, so they randomely go to differnt poles, cauing more variation
