Weight Loss Support

Okay everyone, I've got three weeks to lose some weight for my ball, and then I want to get fit and lose my stomach over the summer.

So I thought I'd make a little weight loss thread where we can post any useful healthy weight loss ideas and generally moan about the fact it's really hard losing weight!

Anyone have any tips for losing weight when I'm supposed to be revising and don't have much time for exercise?

Sit ups-definitly helpful-swimming. No junk food-have fun making colourful healthy food that tastes wholesome and leaves you feeling better and full. Go for a swift walk-walk to whereever you go etc and swimming is good too-get more intense each week. Always eat breakfast, have your main meal at lunch and then a light tea.

Whilst you're revising don't stop moving! It sounds silly but it seriously burns calories. At your desk whilst your typing tap your feet or jiggle your legs. That way your body is always active. Also just don't eat too much whilst revising. I know i'm always tempted to. xx
If you drink lots of water you will feel less hungry

i'm on a diet. I have lost just over half a stone whoo! go me  Although this weak i was a bit disheartened as i have lost nothing :frown:
the thing is that i can't eat anymore than 1000 calories or i won't lose any weight, bu i've been hearing things differently from other people. Lke the other thread similar to this where this girl is eating about 1400 calories! i can't do that!

Being on study leave and revising is the toughest challenge because you're in the house all day and you tend to get hungry quicker because all of the energy your brain is using up. Does anyone have any idea what healthy snakes you can eat to keep you going but doesn't threaten weight gain?

Why not? Unless you are extremely small (height wise) you should be eating more than 1000 calories a day. Did you know that anything less than 900 is medically considered to be starvation because it doesn't provide your body with enough sustenance to even function properly, never mind about all the moving around, thinking etc that you do.
I'm going to give encouragment:

Go [Name], you CAN do it! Think of [Name] who called you [Insult]! Prove them wrong!

i'm on the 4th day of my diet now, it's tough but i'm doing well so far. i'm following Joanna Hall's 'How to drop a dress size in 2 weeks flat' book. basically i'm eating fruit, veg, wholemeal bread, fibre cereals (like muesli and shredded wheat) yoghurt, lentils and 2 litres water a day. also i am not eating carbs/starch after 5pm, if i get hungry i nibble on fruit or oatcakes. weigh****chers is great, all based on points, you can snack on rice cakes with marmite (they are 0 points). i have a problem with chocolate in that i'm so weak i can't even go a day without any, but i've not had any for 4 days now! keep going, have treats and good luck!

Ooooo good thread! I'm in exactly the same position (although I finish on tuesday so I can exercise properly after then).

Best tip for fitting in exercise when you're revising is do what I did over easter: get up and get to work straight away in the morning, then when you hit your lunch break go running then you can shower etc. and have lunch. It feels like you've had a real break 'cos you've been out and exercised and had a relaxing shower etc. but it's mostly things you had to do during the day anyway but you've turned it into a break. Cunning time management. [that was so incoherent, sorry]

General weight loss- I guess you could rope some people into playing tennis or something, better yet, punting has to burn some calories! I expect you know how to lose weight so I won't patronize you- it's the motivation we all lack!
