Fastness

I dont mean to sound like rude or whatever.

But ive noticed that you British sure dont mess around on the sex front. You seems waaay faster than anywhere else. People are like, I have dated this girl for 4 weeks and already havign sex.. some people are like a week some people are like 2. I made my bf wait a couple of months. Its the same with most girls i know and the guys here usually dont expect fast girls.

Congrats i guess...

Everybody knows sex feels better if you don't know his name :p:
Interesting observation... maybe people who are more relaxed about sex and have sex faster are just more likely to be the ones posting about their sex lives on an Internet forum? I usually make 'em wait a while

lol!

I really don't know the answer to that...

Personally I just go with whatever feels right, not what social norms tell me to do. I've waited for 6 months before and I've also waited for about an hour but it really made no difference to how badly the relationship turned out.

I hate conservative attitudes towards sex, I think people need to become more liberal in this country, especially older generations. I heard my mum's friend telling her that she'd "never do oral" once - why?!?! She didn't say it as if she doesn't like doing it, just the fact that she has moral values to uphold.

I agree with lessthanthree - imposing rules and being didactic about when you should sleep with someone isn't the best way, it only makes people think they're being immoral and dirty or whatever.

In contrast to the original poster, I think we're not liberal enough in the UK, not when you compare us to Germany (I had a total field day looking admiring the sex-obsession in Berlin) and many other European countries. We are getting better though.
I don't really agree on the stereotype of "fast" or "slow" sex in different countries. Sex is something that is between the two people (excluding threesomes) and it really depends on if the two are ready or not for it.

A British couple, whom might be expected to be "fast", might not have sex until 6 months into their relationship if they don't feel ready for it yet. Whilst an Indian couple, whom people might think of as "slow", might have sex within a week.

It's quite unfair to have that kind of stereotype.
It is true that perhaps British are more open-minded about sex. Many people wouldn't mind talking about it.

You'll never know if a couple have had sex unless they tell you. But just because they don't openly talk about it, doesn't mean they are "slow" or haven't had it. We just assume they haven't because they didn't say, "OMG, I HAD THE BEST SEX LAST NIGHT!!"

well I wasnt saying it was a bad thing. (ease up turbos) It was just a general discussion I was having with my international student friends about attitudes towards sex in different countries.

I mean here its open and talked about freely etc its just that girls seem less inclined to sleep with a guy within the first two weeks of meeting him.

My friend from Norway said its like that there but when they do they dont stop ever, lol.
where are you?
