Fancy dress for University..put it in the checklist?

I was thinking up of other items etc to add to my Uni checklist for when I go to Liverpool (better be) in September.

And I thought of a fancy dress outfit. :shot:?

hehehe I didnt have like a massive panda suit in mind, just a change of clothes to improvise for the likely event of a fancy dress party at Uni

Does that sound like a good idea to you? i'm doing it anyway but I thought it might be a good idea to others starting in Sept.

well no cause you might have one costume and the theme might be something completely different. plus if it's anything like here you'll goto several a term and you'll want different ones each time =P

well I would want to change my outfit after using it! lol! and the theme was a good point but oh well.

Guess this proves you can't to be too prepared for University then!!!
My friend has a lime green pimp suit that he bought when he was at uni. I think most of the guys have now worn it at some point. They made our friend Simon wear it on his stag night.

My sister has devil horns and a proddy thing, and a witches hat. They don't take up too much space, and you can find the rest of the outfit in your wardrobe! Something similar would be good, but don't go to too much effort as no one ever does.

*glances in her dressing-up drawer*

in my time at uni i seem to have acquired - top hat & cane, bunny ears, floral garland, tiara, beauty queen sash, nurses hat/equipment, masquerade mask & witches hat!

& with my normal wardrobe as well you can achieve quite a lot with that.. :p:

I'd advise taking something you could wear as a school uniform with you - lots of places have school disco theme nights so that'd be useful.

Regular fancy dress things that we have apart from school discos are beach parties, retro nights and 999 nights (where you can dress up as anything from a doctor to superman...) but all are things you can get when you're there!

school themed. oooooh dear, lol. That'll be cool, except my younger brother might probably have my old school blazer by then! I wonder if it'll still fit

Copies Elles and finds:

A playboy bunny costume
A tiara
Fairy wings, a halo and a wand

Make sure you've got a sheet for toga parties too!

nah just shirt and school tie will do you, don't need full on blazers and stuff! Besides in a hot packed union/club/wherever you might get a tad hot and sweaty in a blazer!
Definitely pack a school tie and shirt - there'll be at least one school disco in freshers week!

As for other stuff, don't worry about it - it's fun looking around charity shops with your new found friends in freshers week for some crazy outfits...

yeah Charity shops are gooood  Thanks for the advice. I'm looking forward to everything

Yup, I've already planned to take my school uniform with me. My cool german-flag coloured tie!

German flag? are they your actual school colours? I hope not  hehe. My school colours are black, purple and white. Theyre a good combination

Well, I'm at Durham and we got special freshers' packs and they told us to bring 70s fancy dress with us, so I'd say be prepared!

70s?! nooo!! how on earth did you manage that? (if you didnt go to a dress hiring shop!)
