The only bad thing on a CV is putting something in you havent done. You can leave out all you want but i'd still put it in because it shows that you still did the subject and got a decent grade in it.
It just doesn't make sense really. If you are applying to a company that has strict grade standards then they will also almost certainly do checks and you will be found out and lying on your CV and almost certainly an automatic fail.

If the company isn't grades obsessed, then why not put it in. A C grade is hardly a disaster.

The OP has not lied on their CV if they choose not to include something, they would be lying if they included the subject at a higher grade then what they achieved.

I would advise to not include the extra subject, if you feel that an achievement is going to jeopardise your standards then you shouldn't be obliged to include it.

It is a grey area. Technically speaking, you're not lying, and so if you do get found out, you probably can't be sacked for it. However, the company will expect you to add that information, so omitting information could get you into trouble. I seriously doubt you'd get sacked for leaving it out, unless they grades are a large factor in the job. It could though, put you under a bad light when you start working there. I would say add it, because as a rule, unless you are going for something which specifically asks for a certain level of education, they don't really care about your grades.

I now have a bunch of A-level grades at A, but one very annoying C. Would it be considered bad form to just omit it from CVs I'm sending out with work experience inquiries? I very much doubt they'd even be able to find out, but on the off-chance they did, would it be significantly frowned upon?

I'd drop it, unless they specifically ask for you to list all of your A-Levels (which some firms do) you don't have to give them all.

I disagree. Omission of an A-Level isn't lying (unless you claim to list all of your A-Levels).
