I want to do the same. Also, is it hard to find work on a subject related to the masters? (I'm doing an LLM so I'd like a job as a paralegal or something like that...)
It is goos to find part time job
but I think Masters will be very busy
and you will find many things to do
many clubs to have fun and usefull time
I am planning to learn new sport and new language(may be French)
so I think I will not find time to work
any way, you should wait till you commence your master, then you can decide
good luck

i'm going to be doing part time work - a max of 15 hours per week (with study leave during exams). I'm also doing the LLM (at LSE). I hope it's not going to be too hectic, but i have to work, as a condition of my scholarship. i think it should be ok. LSE says you can work for between 15 and 20 hours a week i think. hopefully there'll still be time to have some fun!

Hey ive already got a pt job - i think its fine to have one but it will be hard on your course. Best to just work one day a week I guess. Its quite tricky to get one but it is possible. Ask the uni for my help cos they should know the easiest way.

I know quite a few people doing masters who have part time work in libraries. Flexible hours, and generally gives them a good bit of time to get reading done in the quiet periods.

How about looking into jobs which are essentially freelance, so you can fit them into any hours you have spare? (eg. I do a lot of work reading and reporting on scripts for theatres, which I mean to carry on when I'm doing my masters - and is actually vaguely related to my masters' topic. I don't know if there would be equivalent things for other subject areas.)

Alternatively, I imagine that if you get on well with your supervisors, there might well be the possibility of work within the department.
