bodybuilding diet

for all of you out there that bodybuild...how hard do you find it to eat healthily? i dont mean this in the sense of not having the motivation to eat healthily im talking more in the sense of surroundings and situation. for example at uni i can imagine it being quite hard to stick to a very healthy diet, because youre probably quite skint and the temptations of booze etc.. and also if you have jobs and stuff and you always have to grab stuff "on the run" i know from experience it can be very hard to eat the food you need..

how big of a problem does it pose you? and how do you deal with it?

can't you bulk buy the kinds of suppliments you require?

Yup, but it's still a hassle sometimes having to take out shakers etc.

I'm finding it okay at tha mo, god knows what it'll be like at uni though.
You're supposed to eat a lot of protein, so buy cheap cuts of meat. It's a lot easier to get nutrients from food, because supplements are so expensive, and it can take yonks for you to find the right one, so you can waste a lot of money. It's much easier to like i say buy cheap cuts of meat. I knew a bodybuilder and he ate small portions very often but the portions were always 75% protein and 25% carbs. Protein is vital because it builds tissue- hope this has helped a bit

I think he knows, cheap cuts of meat aren't really that cheap when you buy lots of it.
well don't buy lots of it, buy a pack of mincemeat, and 10 tins of canned fish. Canned fish is cheap and protein rich so my suggestion doesn't break the bank

I dont find it hard to eat healthily at all. I dont want to drink, i dont want to eat crisps and rub sticks of butter in my mouth. I like eating how I do so its never been a problem. If you dont like eating "healthily" then id suggest not bothering; youll just resent having to do it, and probably revert back to a normal diet. Make whatever good changes you can, but only up to the point that you still overall like your diet

Not enough food, and one gets slightly bored of tuna fish after 3 cans :/
This is true, because you have to be really dedicated or you won't get the results you want.

Along with carbs and fats.

Or, you could mix up the protein sources and not just eat tuna as suggested.

my bro says when bodybuilding you gotta eat lots of protein to help build muscle. so even if he's on the run he grabs meaty or high protein foods

get a load of protein powder, whey conc., and a decent mixer, takes 2 minutes to make and drink and will give you a good 20g. buy some protein bars if you're on the run (although these are more expensive. It shouldnt take longer than a few minutes to make a peanut butter or ham sandwich.

ok, allow me a dense moment... what is whey? cos my food tech teacher got us to make cheese by seperating milk into curds and whey... same thing? or not?
