I have that issue - I think it's just because we're bored atm and at home. I've put on half a stone. The trick is to watch WHAT you eat and HOW MUCH. A friend of mine uses chewing gum whenever she gets the nibbles.

i dont know what to do! ive eaten sooo much in the past 24hrs its unberlieveable! even when im full i still eat! i havent been hungrey in ages cos i just keep on eating all the time! i really dont know what to do, cos it means im putting on weight and i really tried hard to lose all my weight before
what can i do to stop eating?!!!

If you're constantly eating it could be because you're rushing your meals and not allowing yourself to digest it, then wanting to fill yourself up.

My advice would be to establish meal times and stick to them, eat slowly (if alone, read a book) and really enjoy the food. at the end drink a large glass of water, and drink a lot of water during the day.

Also, try not to start snacking, as it's hard to stop!

I usely pig out all the time because i'm bored. Its these blooming exams and study leave etc.

So lately I too have been roaming the kitchen...melting cheese...boiling noodles...etc. Fills a space inside your mind (as well as your tummy) know what I mean?

I ate an awful lot on Wednesday, it was crazy, and I would still rather eat than revise

So i'm trying to focus more on other things to occupy myself. Not specificaly revise...here is ok...computer game...try not to get bored. When I get bored I go for food ;P
if you are eating alot or craving eg sweets or chocs, eat raisins they fill you up cos of the fibre, are healthy and sweet.

if you crave savory eat brown toast - fibre wil fill you up whilst it is more healty than crisps

I eat a lot on study leave. I always emerge after the 3/4 week period about a stone heavier and in need of some gym. But this study leave I'm forcing myself to drink lots of water to suppress the hunger that seems to develop due to stuyding. I ate a lot earlier in the week because I was stressed and I didn't seem to be remembering anything I revised! Thank heavens I started to remember stuff, phew!
Drink loads of water to make yourself feel sick, so you stop eating, and do something to take your mind off food.

are you eating due to boredom, or due to stress??

you mentioned that you've been trying to lose weight. have you been going on extreme diet and restricting yourselves from eating many kinds of food. because extreme dieting can often lead to eating disorders, because of the cravings developed after a period of deprivation.

if you're simply eating due to boredom and this is only a one-time thing...then mb you can just try and do something that would distract you from thinking about food. put all the food away from your sight and do something that won't allow you to sit and eat, ie. do NOT watch tv. maybe you can go out for a walk or go to the mall or sth or do exercise. just keep yourself occupied.

when i was trying to lose weight, i would wait till i was hungery, and then i would have some water or diet coke and then wait till i was hungrey again and then eat, and it worked.

well...that doesn't really sound like extreme dieting, and by that i mean people who would purposely starve themselves for long hours until they no longer feel hungry. their hunger becomes numb overtime, but you do have the odd bit of snack now so that's fine. you're just probably eating cos you're bored and need to do something. just keep yourself occupied and you'll be fine.

i didn't. probably because i am recovering from depression myself and i do find it rather offensive when people just joke about it thinking it's funny.

there are other people on TSR who wouldn't appreciate such a childish joke.
i think dieting makes you think about food hence you notice if you are hungry. once i tried to diet and i NEEDED 3 (small) meals a day. but normally at weekends or at uni i only eat dinner as i dont have time to be hungry and im fine.
FIND STH to DO!!!

go to the gym?
