Yeah OK - Don't take any sleeping pills or anything like that, if anything they mess up your sleeping pattern even more.
1) Wake up earlier - Fall asleep earlier 2) Don't worry about trying to fall asleep, let it happen 3) Be comfortable, if there's a distraction, don't ignore it, get rid of it
Tire yourself out naturally before you try to go to bed, especially the night before your exam. Run or do some sport in the evening.
Of course, I'm a fine one to talk, it's 4am and I'm not even tired...
my sleep pattern is totally messed up!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 07 am andim not tired at all - i might have to try exercise as ive noticed that when i stay in all day and "try" to revise i dont feel refreshed at night and i just get depressed
This ALWAYS work for me.... try to revise in bed . (Not joking). I always find my book on top of my face (or somewhere near me), then I say to myself 'SHYTE! should have stayed at my god damn desk!!'

That's quite strange: I took some Kalms the other night (I never take medicine to fall asleep) and ended up not even going to bed. If I'm too tired, sometimes taking caffeine just gets me nervous and stressed and everyone knows that being stressed when you're tired only lasts for a while then you feel even more tired than before as you tire yourself even faster than before.
Caffine will probabaly mess up your balance more than anything.
I drink 1 large strong cup of black coffee a day and have done for 2/3 years. If I don't get my coffee I get huge headaches and I feel half awake in lessons.

I say if you want to get your sleep patterns back to normal, stop taking anything (caffine and sleeping tablets included) and just force yourself to get up at 7am every morning. It won't work straight away but after a few days you'll be sleepy come 11pm then all you should have to do it lie down and go to sleep! Just so everyone knows the best way to sleep is in absolute silence and absolute dark the doctors say so! (even though a lot of people find a story tape / noise machine [you know wave sounds or whatever] help them go to sleep).
Melatonin (not sure if it's available in shops in the UK tho, I got mine in America when I was there). It's a chemical naturally produced by your body to reset your body clock, as such. You only take it for a week (maximum) and then stop, your natural rhythm should have changed and you'll sleep at a normal time again. Good for jet lag too. I'd avoid pumping your body full of chemicals as much as possible, as this'll just make it worse, but this is the best if natural methods don't work. Hope you get some sleep! skevvybritt x

my excuse was i got a bit carried away with some revision. went to sleep at 8, got up at 12, now feel like i'm going to die. i get a lot of work done in the night cos no distractions.
i took 12 pro plus and still conked out. i really dont think they work.
