The Nottingham 2010 Applicants Thread

Probably a tad too early yet (forgive me, I'm bored :p:), but I thought it'd be nice to have a place for people who are thinking about applying to Nottingham for 2010 to talk about what they want to do, like the '09 thread.

If you want you can fill in the details here as a way of breaking the ice - I'll start off:

Name: Emma
Course chosen: American Studies and History joint honours
Other choices: Manchester, Sussex, Leicester and UCLAN
Random info about yourself or your course: There's an option to go to the US or Canada for a year if I get 55-60% or more in the first year and first semester of the second year.

The city is really accessible from the campus though. So although the campus is a little way from the city, it is really accessible through transport links, bus service runs every 10/15mins I think. Also, for a night out, many will get a taxi which doesn't work out to be too expensive when shared between a full taxi and also there is the option of walking, for instance in the day for some shopping.

I'm not there yet and I'll let you know better when I am  But I hope to be spending a lot of time in the countless bars on campus, Rock City, Rescue Rooms and the ton of pubs around.
Might help

Etudiant's covered distances but in a taxi, at 10:30ish, on a hugely busy road on an open day, it only took about 15 mins from the train station.

Hiiiii,

I was at Uni of Manchester for a year, but decided to jack it in as I didn't like it so I'm loafing around Czech Republic 'til next year.

Anyway, I'm thinking of applying to the Serbian/Croatian course. Is anyone else thinking of doing it :-).

Cheers,
George.

I was supposed to be going to Prague in December, but the trip had to be cancelled :frown:

Sounds like a very interesting course though
That's a shame, it's a very ermm... well... crazy town .

@ Emsybean, what are you studying ?

Lol I know, though I would've gone with my mum so it would probably have been restricted to the Christmas markets.

For A-Level I'm studying History, Media and Politics, my degree choice is in the first post
Haha, yeah. The xmas markets look pretty nice, but I dunno as I've only been here since June.

Wow, that's cool. How're you doing so far? I found history a b***h!! But good fun, nonetheless.

It's not fun having to write essays from scratch at 3/4 o'clock in the morning when you've forgotten about some of them, but apart from that I love it
