I got this intranet portal thing sent to me to look at the course stuff today, did anyone else?
my school sent it off (i sent it to them in SEPTEMBER :/) on wednesday, so that was quite quick
is this an acknowledgement? i'm a thicko, i know

I'm sure you will! Why do you doubt it? If it's an "oh nooo I didn't get straight As" issue than I don't think that's the be all and end all for Nottingham, my friend just got an offer through today with only one A grade at AS (and he got an E in one subject!)

In reply to your earlier post, the invitation to look at the Portal is an acknowledgment, and yes it was a super-quick turnaround!

I only got one A (the other 2 were 2 marks off As :angry:

) and I got a D at AS.

but if he got an offer this makes me slightly more hopeful

Its cool, I was born in nottingham, both my parents went to uni there (not the reason I want to go there) and a fair few of my family and close friends live in the city and surrounding area. I know it quite well :p:

Woop just got an offer for maths 3 years AAA. Gosh darn it wish i had done further maths! I applied for the 3 year because i thought the offers would be a bit more generous - guess not! I heard you can easily just change from the 3 year to the 4 year course when your there so no worries! Any current maths students reading this forum? If so i would love to know what the teaching is like, and just whether you're enjoying it or not.

Thanks man. I'm still waiting to hear from other unis so i'm not sure yet. The thing i loved about Nottingham is that it had a really nice looking campus, but whether thats a good reason to choose it i don't know. That's why i would like to know about the teaching and stuff. Leicester had the best reputation for maths, so that could well be my first choice if i'm lucky enough to get an offer from them.
