Thanks  I agree, Montreal's so gorgeous - with any luck, and if I brush up on my French to a reasonable standard, I'm hoping to move there.

So I received my offer on December 21st and still haven't received a letter and I'm worried there are open days and things that I'll be missing out on. Has anyone received an offer, say in the last couple of weeks and already received a letter?

Heya

I got my offer through on the 3rd December.. but I didnt get my visiting letter till Xmas Eve... I sent that off after Xmas, but I havent received the parking permit yet for the open day in Feb.

Not really sure if that helps, perhaps you could try ringing them?

Ooh thankyou for that, I guess I should just be patient  If I've not heard anything by the end of half term (so in a fortnight) I may phone, but thinking about it I think one of the Russian lecturers is coming into my school soon so I can always ask him for me. Saves making dreaded phonecalls!

Hey people! I was just wondering. Do we get like offer packs for nottingham? If yes, when do we normally get it by? I'm an international student, so just wondering.

Hey everyone

Name: Becky
Course: Philosophy - anyone else here doing this course?? I'm yet to find anyone..
Other choices: Southampton, Birmingham, Reading and Kent
Random info: Have offers from three of my uni's and have an interview for Southampton next Wednesday which I'm pretty scared about! Getting pretty nervous now though cause Notts is my first choice and it's the only one I haven't heard from. They said I might have to wait until the end of Feb!! :eek3:

Did anyone check out the accommodation?

On a positive note, I'm thinking catered... I havent looked around yet though. A really stupid question, but with catered halls, is there just one huge common for everyone to hang out in, or are there like lots of sitting rooms per group of people, like self catered?

Ive never been to a uni, so I'm clueless, apologies...

On the common room front in catered halls, every hall has a JCR which is usually massive, pool tables, table football, lots of sofas and sky tv, that kinda thing. I think every catered hall has a bar as well (mine certainly does and its a pretty nice place to hang out in). Also in the halls that have a library you can study in there or in the dining rooms, so its possible to be really sociable  It makes meeting people when you first start really easy....

On another note, seen a few people asking about being vegetarian in catered halls, i'm a vege and its fine.

Yeah! Posta is ****! lol...i would have gone manchetser if I did not get my first 3 choices! but i would not have gone cardiff!
Assuming I get all my choices, LSE will be my firm! and my insurance will be Notts/Warwick (though leaning more on notts!)

i didnt even bother appying to cardiff. didnt appeal to me too much. i know people from kisumu have gone there with CDD or CDE....its as if they are looking for money from int'l applicants.

even i prefer notts over warwick...though i know warwick is better ranking wise. i 'feel' as if i will be happy at notts. their course structure is better too.
hey did you get the mail from notts about their visit to kenya? they will be at oshwal centre. i am looking to fir it so i may come and meet them!

Sorry are you doing Philosophy or philosophy with theology? I thought it was a really popular subject too!!! I did my A-levels last year, so they gave me an unconditional offer, which I accepted. Im definitely there! :woo: How about you?? Do we need to do reading before? I did buy a Bertand Russell book, but the big words are killing me!!!
