Nothing specific, just tell me anything and everything you got to say
Ahh got 1, are there often guest speakers/an economics society that organises stuff like that?

Im going for Sociology and you'll spot me with my TSR cap on.

Not.
Got an offer for Accounting and Financial management. ABB
Other unis applied to are Loughborough, Exeter, Bath and Lancaster

Bit confused whether I'd like to go to Notts or not. On one hand its probably the most prestigious of my choices, but then its only a BA and not a BSc.
Would my other choices be better? And am I wrong in thinking that employers prefer BSc's?

I got an unconditional offer for English Studies yesterday (on a Saturday, which I was not expecting!). Anyone else thinking of firming this course? Also, I haven't been sent anything by the university yet, so does anyone know when the next open day is, or a day when people are supposed to visit for English Studies? Thanks.

I went to visit on the last open day, and loved University Park Campus, but I didn't have time to see the city. I think I will have to go up again and have another look round if I decide to firm it.

I had a little look around halls on the open day, and I think I would rather live in self-catered, as I don't like the thought of not being able to cook my own meals. Broadgate park seems quite nice.

It's quite a difficult decision for me between Nottingham and UEA, as my boyfriend of 5 years is at UEA, and it will be quite weird for me to be living so far away from him, but as Nottingham has a slightly better reputation, I think I will probably have to just go for it. :s-smilie: It's not exactly the other side of the country though, so I'm sure it won't be that bad, and hopefully all the stuff going on during fresher's week will be enough to take my mind off it.

I love the look of the course- so much about language and Old English, looks really interesting! You feeling excited yet?

how funny i have an offer from uea too! i wouldnt knock it, the course there looks quite impressive (not sure about the nightlife compared to notts..) but yeah, notts is a russell and so you'll benefit from having that when youve graduated i suppose.
yeahhh ive got a friend in broadgate she loves it! but i think its slightly less social in freshers week than the catered halls? like if you look on the week one website all the parties are specifically directed at certain halls, but the self catered are not included in them?? maybe thats because you automatically have your flatmates as friends though?
All my other friends have always bin in Hugh stu and thought it was brilliant so i just automaticly went for that one..but apparently its exactly the same as being at boarding school rather than uni and i was quite looking forward to cokking up experiments in the kitchen after a nite out...

yeahh im so exited! do you know how much contact time we have per week?
So has anyone got an offer for Economics at Nottingham yet? I'm worry, I sent my application in 14 Jan and haven't heard anything from them since then T.T
I got this email today:

Dear student

You will recently have received an offer from me of a place to study law at the School of Law, University of Nottingham.

I will be visiting Singapore in March and am inviting you to attend a presentation about the School. I hope too, that there will be an opportunity for you to meet with former students of the Law School.

The presentation will be made in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 5 Raffles Avenue, Marina Square, Singapore on Saturday 27 March from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

You are welcome to bring with you another member or members of your family.

I hope that you will be able to meet with me when I will also be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Yours sincerely

W I Hooker

Director of Undergraduate Admissions

however, no updates on UCAS track yet. Any cause for concern or is this a confirmed unconditional offer (since i applied with actual grades)

any advice would be appreciated!

hmmm well ucas say that even if the university give you an offer nothing is official until track say conditional/unconditional.
But the same thing happened to me when i applied to loughborough last year, i received an offer letter in the post but it didnt come up on track for like a week!
So i suppose technicly you don't have the offer until it pops up on track but just be patient  x
