Thanks, I'm quite sure it's just luck or something though! Yeah I'm not sure I can get AAA! Was predicted A*AAB for UCAS but now my predicted gardes are like ABBC! Ahh, i'm finding this year abit harder. The year abroad really attracted me to the course though.
Oh Politics and American studies sounds really interesting! I looked at doing american studies with something and it looked really interesting but I decided I didn't really know enough about it to be sure I would like it.

I didn't know much about it either, but I thought I'd take the plunge anyway :p:

Meh, I have to wait until 2011 entry now because of illness

I was offered history last week after applying for English and History and was wondering if anyone knew how the university would take me requesting to be considered for a separate course (English Studies), because I'd rather do that than history and it takes similar numbers? Do uni's do that kind of thing or is it out of line?
You could try but English is supposedly very competitive course.
I think it worth a shot asking though.

I got an offer for the International Relations and Global Issues course today. Think it's going to be my firm although i'm abit concerned about meeting the grade requirements! Didn't think i'd get an offer as I got a D in Politics AS somehow and didn't mentiontion international relations in my personal statement!

Anyone else got an offer for this? I would like to see if there's anyone here who I might be on the course with, grades permitting!

Hiiii :biggrin::biggrin:
I got offer for MSci in January. Long wait though...
I went to the department Open Day today. Only me as an MSci offer holder there. However the school was great!! Now I'm sure that Nottingham will be my firm then.
Problem now is meeting the condition )
Only 25 places for the course right? Hope to see more offers responses xD

Awesome!
Ah, I didn't know there was an open day yesterday, I hope to be able to go to one soon though. Glad you liked it.
Yeah, the grades are so high!
I've found a few people with offers for it in the International Relations + Politics applicants thread! I think there's quite a few offer holders on here considering it's such a small course.
Yea about 25/30 places I think!

There will be a reason they gave you history not english (or english and history ) bear in mind its late in the application cycle now and they mite have lots of places left to fill on history but not many on history and english. You could ring them and ask them to withdraw your offer and consider you for english but then what if they say no and then you have no offer...
English is very competitive...especially at the top universities. It's the most competitive arts subject, youll notice its never on clearance at the good unis. so its unlikely theyll give you an offer if you didnt apply for it directly.

How bad would it be if you went there for history? just because once your at notts its fairly easy to change course to whatever you want, i have 3 ffriends there who have changed course. some of them changed between arts and sciences! So you could go for history for a month or so and change to english / english and history then?

OMG, they are sending out answers, I might not have to wait for my rejection much longer and can finally try to make a decision :woo: And I'm pretty sure it will be a rejection, because I just checked the Pol/IR thread and this one and there already seem to be like 4 or 5 offer holders just on TSR. Which means about 1/5 of the course is already filled :o:

Yup, aw don't be so down yet. I was sure I was going to get rejected and I didn't so you never know what the universities are thinking! Your other offers are really good (The Durham one is amazing, I was going to apply for that course but knew I would be rejected) so your application must be good, so just wait and see. Yes alot of people on here have offers compared to the amount of offers they actually give out, I agree.

But you did get an offer from Notts (Congrats by the way :woo: I was so excited about them having sent put an answer that I totally forgot to xD). So Durham might have been worth a try, but that probably doesn't matter anymore

I just keep telling myself, so that I won't be disappointed... [Some parts of me is still hoping though of course]. I have no idea, what my application is "worth". Some unis obviously liked it (York, who gave me an offer much lower than what they had previously told me was their standard offer for my degree and this course and Durham who accepted me although I made a mistake on my application that [as stated on the website] should have got me rejected  ), but then again Sheffield gave me a ridicously high offer and Nottingham keep me waiting.

Well I do meet Nottingham's required grades and put everything I could into my PS, which isn't perfect, but can't have been to bad either. Means: I gave my best and have a place to go this year, so I should be pretty relaxed :yep: At least it's better than waiting for the other replies before. Especially Durham drove me nuts.

Are you the one that is doing Physics?
