How to get rid of a guy?

Okay this may sound stupid but this guy i know has been txting me at least once a week for ages. I have ignored most of them but i feel kinda bad, he is a nice guy but i dont want to send out the wrong signals. The worst thing is that his mum is friends with my mum so he seems to know loads of stuff about me and it is kinda freaking me out. I dont want to upset him, but what do i do? He hasn't ever done anything overtly flirtatious i just get the feeling. Oh well it could be worse he is a nice guy help please!!

Don't do anything, once a week is not much. He will get the signal eventually... OR start texting him back asking for advice on another guy you like or something... say you are like going on a date or something during a conversation etc... *sigh*

i think you should ask him if he actually likes you more than a friend just in case. if he really likes you and wants to ask you out, i guess it's best if you let him down honestly but gently instead of making up lies or stuff ie. i have a bf (unless you DO have one) because it would only hurt him more when he finds out.

perhaps just say, "you're a really nice guy and i'm really flattered, but i just don't want a relationship at the moment and i think it's best we stay as friends."

my way is easier.

A terminal disease which alas means that although you would have wished to have a long, fruitful and loving relationship you don't actually have the time as you need to get your affairs into order? Nah.

Go with Naxalite.

So he hasn't given you any reason to think he likes you apart from your own "feelings?"

To be honest, I think you're stressing over nothing. Once a week is less than I get promotional texts from a shoe shop.

you get promotional texts from a show shop?!

what shop is that?

I'd go with Naxalite's way.

While letting him down gently would be arguably more "honest"... at least this way he doesn't have to take direct rejection.

Honesty is the best answer!

He will be upset, but at least he will know you respected him enough to let him know where he stands.

i like you.

Why ignore people? You horrible people... It wouldn't kill you just to be polite and answer back. As soon as he starts being flirtatious or suggesting things then say you already have someone or you have your eye on someone. It's as simple as that and you don't even have to be a b*tch about it.

ever seen the movie "how to lose a guy in ten days?" - kidding (you might scare away other cute potentials using this method)

go with the honesty policy - it's a sure bet

if it was me, i'd probably let him know if i was seeing someone. if you ignoring him but he keeps on texting you, he may well like you. are they flirty texts? let him know if you are taken, and if you are single, when you two are talking, slip out about whoever you like, or 'im really not looking for a relationship for a long time' kind of thing so he understands

Keep the texting going, its not really harming anyone.
Alternatively, you could change your number and not give it him?

Reply 18

yea but if she keeps texting him he might think she likes him and get the wrong idea even more.
