antigen presentation refers to the macrophage ingesting the cell surface membrane of the pathogen and displaying the antigens of the PATHOGEN on its surface.

It does this so that t-helper cells and b-lymphocytes with complementary shaped antigens can bind to the macrophage (harmless compared with the pathogen). This is known as clonal selection. Then, the t-helper cells release cytokines so that the b-lymphocytes begin dividing and then differentiating into either plasma cells or b-memory cells.
