Anyone joining UGSAS this year?

So how was everyone's Open Night?? I really enjoyed it all - bar prices were pretty modest. :p: Got very excited hearing about all the adventure training/sports on offer so I can really get back into that.

Who has an interview next week then?? I have mine on Wednesday at 10. Looking forward to it.

I booked an interview in the middle of a wind tunnel lab. meh. tuesday at 1315.

It was a good night, liked hearing from the OCs that were floating about. Nice enviroment. Wans't as many people as I though would attend, but managed to meet people I haven't talked to for years!

Hope I get in, and finally use that pair of football shoes I baught when trialing for the uni team lol.

Its all very exciting. Except from the possibility of going to uni in a suit. But I suppose I'll look all smart and important.

Oh, I have neg rep, pretty random, oh well.

Yeah, my friend who's on the Squadron said there were only about 50 people there from about 80 that were invited. :s-smilie: Seems ridiculous to me that anyone would not want to even attend the Open Night - all it means is there's less people vying off against each other for the same number of spots. I think there's about 25 - 30 places this year so I'm hopeful.

True, my friend had his interview today, he was supposed to be the third interview, instead he was first!

I cant understand why you would not want to join something that gives so much oppertunity, that you get PAID to do.

I heard that other UAS's have over 100 at an open night.

Good luck anyway!

Okay, I'm probably going to appear really dense here but I think I'm in shock: two other people before him didn't turn up!??!

Nope, really dont understand it. They get an interview time, the interviewers await, and then dont turn up and waste their time. But I thank them of course :P

I would have said there were approx 60 people at the open night. With 30 places, and still some dont turn up. At least its not as bad as some UASs, that end up with over 100 needing interviews!

Good luck for your interview.

Yeah my mate said that there was 54 people there on the Open Night but I've heard different figures about how many spots there are.

How did your interview go? Am I right in thinking it was today?

Hmmm, not as well as I would've hoped for. :s-smilie: But I hope I'm just wrongly preparing myself for rejection and it wasn't as bad as I feel it went at the minute. Suppose we'll both find out by end of next week. :eek3:

Stupid question but does the DVLA Medical Group 2 declaration go back to the Squadron and the Claim Form goes to the Directorate of Recruitment in the stamped-address envelope or does everything (declaration and Claim Form) go in the stamped-address envelope to the Directorate of Recruitment???

Everything but the claim forms goes to the squadron, i.e. the large ugsas recruitment letter.

The claim form goes seperately in the smaller envelope to some other mystical place. My doc didnt charge though, so didnt need to send claim form.

Good stuff. Glad that's cleared up. Think we find out tomorrow (today) what the score is.
Anyone receive their letter today?? I was expecting it but nothing. I hope I don't have to find out the bad news because I never got a letter!!
