I was sifting through this thread http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=1012529 yesterday and today which is what inspired me to create this thread.
Lots of girls like this person's body yet the one over-riding criticism on the female part is the lack of a good tan. This got me extremely worried. I have quite pale skin (it gets worse when I don't go outside that often and in the winter). I don't tan well and get burnt too easily. My pale skin has been commented on a lot in my life (almost all comments being nasty). I am very worried of never getting a girlfriend cos it appears girls go for tanned guys and nothing else (the thread I linked to confirms this). I'm not really ugly or anything, just quite pale and quite young looking as well.
Is it true girls like only tanned guys? Will any girl like a pale guy? Do I ever have a chance of getting a girlfriend? Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it too much. So long as you don't look ill, you should be fine.

I love pale skin on guys! As long as it is like a nice pale and not vampire-ish or sickly looking. I love it if guys have rosy-ish cheeks too.

While most people are happy to comment on someone being "too pale" to wear certain items of clothing you won't see them make remarks about people being "too dark". They're just hypocrites that have nothing better to do with their time then enforce their dodgy ideals on the populace.

I don't like tans, probably because I'm so pale myself that standing next to tanned people makes me look anaemic and ill.... don't worry about it, if you don't naturally tan, it probably wouldn't suit you anyway

too much tannage will only lead to leathery skin later. IMHO build, hairiness, personality and personal hygiene are much more important qualities.

Yes, this is true, in fact a lot of studies have gone into the fact that no pale man has ever had any relations with a woman. Fact.

For some people it works, for others it doesn't - it's the same for a tan - looks good on some, detracts from appearance on others
