Its caused by a damaged eardrum I think. Check out www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk

Every now and again I hear a buzzing/ringing sound. It "feels" as if it's in my ears weirdly. Does anyone know what this is?

oh...i have it all the time. but i don't think it's a damaged eardrum because my ears are still a LOT more sensitive than most people in my school. i know that because i'm always the only one who can those high frequency noises old monitors / projectors makes, and often the class thinks i'm being stupid when i beg the teacher to turn off the monitor.
I hear random high pitched noises. Perhaps it's ghosts?

Or more realistically, it's something making a high pitched noise at the extremity of the wavelengths that we are able to detect.

I think you can hear buzzing or ringing sounds in your ears when you are near an electrical device. Usually caused by the static energy.

It's normal to hear the sounds though, so I doubt it's anything to worry about. Just maybe a little annoying

Yeah I get it too, though I do have very weak eardrums. Though I have still been to see motorhead so I only have myself to blame!!

I get that sometimes - it can be caused by a build-up of wax apparently. One isn't supposed to forage around in there with a cotton bud though as this will damage the ear drum! One way of dealing with it is to put a heat pad near your ear and that will soften up the wax.

In the meantime, if it affects your sleep, listening to gentle, relaxing music when you go to bed to disguise the noise!
