Well you can walk it, it's about 25-30 mins. Otherwise you can get the unirider year pass which is usually around £150.
The link to that is here: http://www.stagecoachbus.com/manchester/unirider.html.

That means you can go on any magic or stagecoach bus.

Other than that you can get the weekly passes which last year were £6 for magic pass, £7 for magic & stagecoach pass and I think £6 for a Finglands pass.

Last year single tickets from Fallowfield into uni/town was 80p for Finglands, £1 for magic bus. Stagecoach I think was like £1.80?

Not as many people get Finglands so as a result they're usually faster buses, but if your mates have magic bus passes it's a pain

Unless you have a bus pass, do not use Stagecoach, they're totally ripping you off. I had to go from BBC to the uni (it's like a 10min walk I know) and they tried to charge me £1.30. Not impressed. Also, there's the 147 free bus (free when you take it on Oxford Road) that goes from the hospital to Piccadilly station, and it's pretty useful when you wanna get to the train station quickly.

Tbh, you're gonna be pretty far away from the uni, so I'd tell you to get a bus pass (it also saves the hassle to try to get some money when you're broke and after a night out, trying to work out how much money you need, lol). Plus you won't have to deal with the crazy fares they apply sometimes

If it were me I'd get the weeklies. Because I used to walk sometimes so I'd end up getting a weekly like every fortnight or whatever... depending on the weather.
Passes are tres useful after a night out.

Okay, thank you!
buy it now. the are the same price plus last year the stall was absolutely rammed and you had to wait for ages. plus last year they ran out and had to get more done. plus they give you this little wallet to hold it in with your student card. if you dont get there to later they always run out of wallets and dont get more in. this = loosing £165 when you loose your bus pass. if you loose it they make you file a police report etc it is a massive pile of hassle!

Think I'm going to get a unirider just easier!

Think I'll order it online so I have it ready when I get there!
pleeeeease get the unirider!! this is speaking from previous experience. don't underestimate the amount of journeys you'll be taking up & down oxford road per day, per week, per weekend, per month. it adds up. buy the yearly unirider and you'll save a lot. and as has been said before, most people don't use the stagecoach buses unless they've got a bus-pass, so you get use of those as well  one thing you will notice is that finglands (another bus company on oxford road) are basically nocturnal - you'll see hardly any in the day but come 3am you'll end up paying that £2 night fare to save waiting for the magic bus that you actually have a pass for...

dude i managed to lose my passport on a magic bus!! fear of losing something doesn't mean not having something. plus they issue replacements (maybe only one but i don't know of many people who've lost their unirider) tbh i just think the unirider pays for itself pretty well, but hey ho...

Get the unirider. I have done for the past 2 years and it's well worth the money IMHO. I think it works out at costing you something like 50p per day, and I normally made at least 2 journeys a day...
I would suggest getting the unirider, you get it for 10 months so it works out really cheap even if you don't use it that often. And replacements are £25, so you don't have to pay the whole £165 again.

well if there willing to make me a new one every tym i loose it for less than £5 then i guess its worth it. just not sure where i'm gonna get £150 from lol.

and btw does anyone bike to uni and back from there accomodation?:colondollar: and is it safe? (as i've had 2 bikes stolen in the past)

thanks

edit: just read the post above...£25 for a replacement, gosh. knowing me i'll loose it atleast 2 or 3 times lol. and £165* is alot of money...wouldn't it just be better to walk it from fallowfield or is it really far?
