well if there willing to make me a new one every tym i loose it for less than £5 then i guess its worth it. just not sure where i'm gonna get £150 from lol.

and btw does anyone bike to uni and back from there accomodation?:colondollar: and is it safe? (as i've had 2 bikes stolen in the past)

thanks

edit: just read the post above...£25 for a replacement, gosh. knowing me i'll loose it atleast 2 or 3 times lol. and £165* is alot of money...wouldn't it just be better to walk it from fallowfield or is it really far?

Plenty of people bike to uni and there's plenty of bike racks. They're pretty safe in the day, wouldn't leave them overnight mind! Some buildings have special bike things too.

about a week. here's a full guide to using the bus in manchester and the different passes you can get: http://www.savethestudent.org/using-bus-manchester-t67.html

btw, Magic Bus has thrown it's fares up again. £1.10 single, £6.50 weekly, £165 for year. ridiculous. go finglands.

£165 for the whole year works out a lot cheaper than it would weekly though. I think I'll get the annual one.

Yeah of course, as long as you use it every week and stay up for some of the holidays. Remember it's not really a year either, it's 10 months. I had one last year and I think it would've been cheaper for me personally to get a pass as I went along. I also bike into uni sometimes, esp Monday mornings because magics are like second hell then.

^ as long as you use it every week? I used it multiple times every day.
I better find out how long term time actually is then. :P

i'd be terrefied of losing a yearly uni rider, so would i be better off getting a term-one? or does that just work out as more money spent than necessary?

the replacements are about £25 if you lose it. if you need a yearly one, then get it.
is it worth getting uni rider even if you live on campus?

Depending on where you live on campus, but generally yes. It only cost £4 a week, and you could quite easily spend that in a day if you go out at night.

I had one last year and it cost me £156. Without it would have cost £3.20 a day to get to Uni let alone going anywhere else. Saved me a packet, but i don't recommend losing it.

do these buses run all night? like if youre on a night out are the buses availavle to catch in the early hours?
yes buses run until around 3-4am and start again around 6. EVERYONE gets the magic home at night. they are absolutely rammed around 2-3:30!

I got my Unirider in the post today I think...a long ticket with a receipt and a laminated tear-off pass on the right side. It says I need to have photo ID with it - do I just need to show my student card at the same time I use it, or stick a miniature photo on or what? I'm confused :o:

hey i was wondering about this too! do our student cards have photos on them? cus i havent been asked to send any off or anything... :s-smilie:
Yeah mine arrived a minute ago, ot's so flimsy, I thought for a second it was just the recipt and they'd forgot to send the actual pass! Ha!

how long did it take for you guys to get it.
Seeing as a year bus pass is £150 and weekly's are £6, if you get a weekly pass for more than 25 weeks out of the 40 you have the accommodation for (and the 30ish that make up term time) then you're getting a worse deal than you would with the yearly pass - so it's probably better to get a yearly bus pass
