Well I know that the fencing team is one of the best in the country, it is a reasonable assumption that most of the other teams are of a not too dissimilar standard. There will probably a seconds team atleast and then a general group for everyone.

I don't think you should assume that just because the fencing team is one of the best, the rest should be as well.... If you look at most of the BUSA leagues you'll probably be quite disappointed when you find out where the UCL teams tend to be!!

That doesn't mean the average standard is bad, but it's not amazing. It depends a lot on the particular sport. Regarding tennis and basketball specifically, however, I have no idea.
i'm on the ucl basketball team. it's a fairly high level, not like the best in the london though, we play in the 3rd/4th best league in south east busa league (each league has about 5/6 teams in it)

the seond team didnt get much attention last season to be honest, but it definately will this season

anything else you wanted to know?

So do all the teams train together? I really want to get better, the problem is where I live the standard isn't very high, I need to train in an environment where I'm not the best player if I am to improve. I'm only 6,1 so haven't really got height on my side.

height isn't everything my friend, and 6'1 isn't short. the first and second teams have different training schedules.

just turn up to the try outs in freshers week, and we'll see what happens it's not like we're all superstars or anything, so just turn up and see where you stand
