yeah pretty good.. hated that cellulose question argh.. dropped some marks there! relaly annoyed about that.

The Module One paper was really good tho!

yer that cellulose one was really difficult. that one about the K+ ions- i put that it was something to do with active transport - but then again im not sure if i got it right. i suppose it wasn't too bad. fingers crossed!

Does cellulose coil up into a helix? Cos that's what I put :P i thought that would make it elastic so the cell wall could stretch and not burst...

no it looks like a pleated sheet, straight chans held together by H bonds, i've seen that Q somewhere before  i was well chuffed when i saw it!

i didn't read it properly, omg was that his toothbrush they were talking about?!
yea i read the Q on genetic fingerprinting and then it said hows it used on saddam hussein and i giggled  contextualisation is rather amusing i suppose
as a risitter i found the paper 1 easy, however that cellulose question seemed hard to get 6 points from. cellulose is formed from beta glucose sheets which are flipped over to for the glycosidic bonds. I think i only got about 4 still! and i didnt like the potassium question, the respiration was obviously cus of the oxygen increase (but thats not till module 5 is it???!!) and the pottasium ions i put they aid facillitated diffusion cus they are taken in by this but we didnt learn this till unit 6, so i dont know what they were after!!! Didnt like the straw question bout why it was done at 80-90c anyone know wat that was? just went blank. The heart and lungs stuff was a lot easier than last yrs exam! overall a nice paper.

That wasn't too hard, I don't think. Oxygen increased, therefore respiration increased. Increased respiration means more ATP produced and therefore the K+ ions could be moved into the cell by active transport against their conc. gradient...? Well, that's what I put anyway.

ye thats wat i put. for the straw qn i said that if heated above 90C the straw would burl LOL... stupid i know and i saw it was a 2 marker so i sed that other components other than water would also evaporate. hmmm not sure tho! cellulose qn was bare hard and i think i lost loads of like 1 mark qns cos bio is hard to write perfect answers for cos they want specific phrases

exactly what i put down...like literally, i think even the wording was the same as mine lol freaky mate

the lungs question when we had to skecth a curve how did u all draw it??

i did from decreasing and then increased as time progressed and then decreased again..but i was confused about this and have a feelin i done it wrong, but what did u all do...lets hope i got it right !!lol
