structure and style of the exam was complete rubbish (higher tier)

im really disappointed as biology is one of my favourite subjects im not saying it was hard im just saying :

    1) didnt require any revision
    2) didnt require learning of keywords / definition.
    3) no labelling diagrams whats so ever e.g plants/ heart parts
    4) lack of interesting material
    5) started off with an essay type sort of question bout smoking and drugs. not the usual labelling to get u relaxed.
    6) general structure was rubbish for example a question on photosynthesis popped in bout writing out the equation between 2 completely unrelated subjects , and the photosynthesis question was literally 4 boxes covering less than a 6th of the page at the top - disappointing
    7) general style of question was analysing what was given more than previous knowledge which was anoying as this seems to suggest rather than having a right or wrong clear answer we need to hope that the DESCRIPTIVE stuff we wrote is in the marking scheme

generally a boring exams. rubbish questions and completely unlike the 2004/2003 ones which is disappointing.

    ur ideas?

it wasnt hard but it wasnt really easy

problem is before i could realise what i got right or wrong for sure because it wasmainly labelling / key words/ processing in stages ucan number 1 2. 3 etc

i cant do this now cus it is based on understanding of the question and data rather than the majority of what biology should be and that is processes and terms.

I agree that it was a really poorly made exam. The first question on cigarettes and alcohol was stupid, and so was the one about the tasty salmon fish farm thing.

No questions about the heart, the eye or anything really bodily related- well there was DNA and mitosis and meiosis, but that was pretty much it.

actually it saved my ass .....but yeah i do agree i was panicking sooo much because i kept forgetting the kidney, heart and eye and all the other things they say normally come up. Glad it didnt though.

and i agree about the annoyingly vague questions.....like the cat jaw one....that was easy but i didnt know how to explain my answers afterwards....kinda rambled on.....

and they were soo vague. and i swear there wasnt enough content cos i finished sooo early and i kept adding soo much to each answer cos i wasnt sure exactly what we were supposed to put.

oh yeah and that was basically common sense.....which i dont have.... :>.<: lol

We didn't even do anything relevant to the cat jaw question in our lessons, so i just guessed.
