Uhm, the first thing i do on the morning is go into the kitchen and splash cold water over my face, it always wakes me up. Can't say i've had a cold shower before though!

I have a cold shower sometimes. Much prefer to stay in the warmth of a hot one though!

Oh cold showers in the summer - it's like heaven. Except better because the shower actually exists.

Should you fall into freezing water people that take regular cold showers are less likely to get 'cold shock' or something. Dunno it was on Blue Peter I wasn't really paying attention.

Taking a cold shower after a work out keeps the muscles tense i think, meaning that they build up better. That's just from what i've heard.

Reply 13

I heard it improves the circulation but I'm not all that sure.

i don't think cold showers are actually advisable. it doesn't improve circulation, and unlike warm / hot showers, it doesn't help with losing weight. the only think good about cold showers i can think of is that after a warm shower, a quick rinse with cold water can close up the pores of the skin so less dirt in the air will get in throughout the day.

It's totally anecdotal I realise, but my mum's not been ill (ie. colds etc) since she started having a cold shower daily about 15 months ago. I am not always brave enough - but I love it when I get the courage.
