where is my STUDENT ID on the Nottingham portal???

Hi i am trying to register with the student union website.
It is asking for my student ID... i type my UCAS number but that doesn't work. It also says the ID is found on the portal.

Any idea where the student ID is on the nottingham portal? :confused:

Have you checked the 'Me' tab? That's where my student number used to be.

My details- registration
My bookmarks
Bank details
My finances
Bursary applications
Sports membershipJob search

hmm..i can't remember sorry. try the course tab, it might have it somewhere in there if the any of the links work, like module lists

i just saw this on the nottingham website...

'Your student ID number

For the majority of students, your student ID number is the 7-digit number given on your University card. A few courses, however, do not use the same student record system. If you do not have a 7-digit number on your card please speak to your School office'

I guess i can't register on the student union website until i get to nottingham :\

have you logged in your portal with your new nottingam username and password that you created. it is on the top along with the 'home, course, school, IT and student union' tab

By bumping this, do you mean you can't find your Student ID?

If so, follow these instructions:

1. Firstly make sure you've made your Nottingham Portal account.
2. Login to the Portal @ http://my.nottingham.ac.uk
3. Click the Me tab.
4. On the left, under My Details, click Check My Details.
5. Login to this service, and it will be in the top-right hand corner, and should be 7 digits long.

Alternatively, if you have your Welcome letter from Nottingham (not from UCAS)< then it's probably on that.

Ah, you won't have yet, apologies.

Try:

1. Login to the portal @ http://my.nottingham.ac.uk
2. Click the Next Steps tab.
3. On the My Details channel, click the button.
4. It should redirect you to the University Details database frontpage, with your Student ID in the top right.

There is no "my details" thing there either.

I need to send a form to Nottingham which asks for my student ID on one part of it. I think I will just send it off now and they can phone me if they need it.

It's not on the letter either.

Interesting. I know they take about 48 hours to be fully setup, but not sure why the latter doesn't work yet. I'm sure they can find out themselves if need be :smile:
