The Student Room Group

So. complicated. and. depressing. :(

I'm so confussssssssssssed. I live in london and go to an international school. so i do CIE a levels, my as levels were AABB

So i had my first day of year 13 today.... its just me and one other girl who doesn't speak and I can't bear it anymore i barely handled being this alone last year ( a few people left) and now i have a full year like this :frown:

Should I:

a. Suffer through this depressive year totally alone and possibly somehow get into the uni of my dreams in the uk
b. scuffle through my a2 studies quickly and do a2 exams in november and scrape the grades to get into university of western australia

I just can't bear being in a year group with just me and one other person :frown: I'm not a werido I swear I'm a super outgoing person!! i need to socialise!!

Move school or college?

Do some extra-curricular activities, join clubs outside of school. Talk to a tutor in school about your situation.
By the way what do you mean by this girl doesn't speak: like she's a mute or shy or what?
Also talk to your parents, another thing you could do is phone up other local schools to see if they do A Levels (depending on where you are it might be unlikely)

Good luck, and congrats on the AS Levels

There's tons of clubs you could join:
A Theatre, Acting or Drama club
Arts Clubs that do Painting or Sculpturing Course
Music like go to some gigs, music festivals. Learn an instrument and you'll probably meet people through that.
Public Speaking - join a debate club or find out where your nearest Toastmasters is and go along.
Cooking course
Youth Club
Some sort of Political organisation
A Religious organisation (If you're religious)
Do some volenteer work or charity work
You could also find a job and meet people where you work.

If this other girl is shy then talk to her.

You could also join some sports clubs like a gym (great way to get fit and build confidence) or something like Martial Arts, I do kickboxing and everyone sucks when they first join but, I've made literally dozens of friends over the past 3 years, It's a great way to meet people.

Just go out there and make friends basically and be optimistic, you're practically getting 1-to-1 tuition at your school so your more likely to get a better mark because your lessons will be more focused.
