Double Major?

This may sound stupid but can you double major at camb? Can it be done in 3 years? It's not typical but it is possible to major in two subjects in the US, and the more I sit around the more I wish I majored in both econ and compsci. Alternately could I get a graduate degree in finance/econ with an undergrad in compsci? Is it possible to make changes while in courses or should I make my decision before I start or shortly thereafter?

We don't have majors. At Cambridge you could take part I economics and part II compsci, or vice versa, presuming you were suitably qualified and had the agreement of your Tutor and the appropriate directors of studies.

Well, I can't really miss out on Part I compsci if I want to take Part II compsci, nor do I want to take part II econ. I'm actually asking, I guess, if it would be possible to take part II of both, but it doesn't really seem like it so I'll have to be satisified with self-study I guess.

The system and level of undergraduate degrees in the US is different, I am led to believe; I would have thought that it would be impossible for the vast majority of people to study two subjects simultaneously to Cambridge degree standard.

You're right, you can't do pure part II compsci without part IA and IB compsci. You can, however, do a cut down version called part II general that attempts to take snippets of the important stuff from each of the traditional years.

I think I'll just have to see the course load once I get there and see if I could possibly do a diploma in econ and perhaps a masters in econ.

There are also some weird rules about getting two degrees from cambridge. SOmething along the lines of you being able to study for the second one but not getting being presented the diploma or something..... I may be wrong but I think something along those lines is true....
