# easy m1 question help plz.. watch

1. Right im really crap at moments so if any1 has a decent link for help id appreciate it. Anyway i attached the question below, i need to know how to solve the distance d. I knw X is 3.

2. Moments C.W. = Moments A.C.W.
take moments about the end where force 5N is applied

6x1 + 2 ( d+1) = 3 ( d+2)
6 + 2d + 2 = 3d + 6
d = 2
3. Cheerz geeza

Can't you just resolve vertically??

but then I got 2.8
5. RESOLVE? resolve what?
6. force up = force down
6N + 2N = 5N + XN
x=3

assuming it is a light rod
7. it's already known that X = 3 ,that's why i didnt do that part.
8. yeah, you had to find d

aah right...you don't take force downwards as 5g??

Its in Newtons which is the total force acting downwards including gravity. If it was given in kg or weight = 5kg then it would be 5g yes.
