    Right im really crap at moments so if any1 has a decent link for help id appreciate it. Anyway i attached the question below, i need to know how to solve the distance d. I knw X is 3.

    take moments about the end where force 5N is applied

    6x1 + 2 ( d+1) = 3 ( d+2)
    6 + 2d + 2 = 3d + 6
    d = 2

    Its in Newtons which is the total force acting downwards including gravity. If it was given in kg or weight = 5kg then it would be 5g yes.
