You'll NEVER believe this.........It lives on !!!!!! Verbal reasoning, that
is.Apparently it is STILL part of the 11+ exam in those few areas where there are surviving grammar
schools. Also, Private schools such as Rugby make you sit a verbal reasoning exam.

It was still being used in Gloucestershire when I taught year 6 three years ago - and they used it
to select for grammar schools. Mary x

Our Yr 7 pupils sit CATs tests at the start of Yr 7 and they comprise of a verbal and non-verbal
part - they aren't *that* unusual!!!

When I taught in Northampton a few years back, some schools were still using slates and slate
pencils, for real, not as a historical experince!!

And have you noticed on TV that all Primary schools in plays have the kids wearing blazers and
little peaked caps Blimey!
