Thank you so much for your reply - it's super helpful! I haven't taken the grade 6 exam, so I guess I will probably have to do the sight reading test !
I was also just wondering, for the submission of harmony and counterpoint I was thinking of sending in a Bach Chorale and a trio sonata - but I saw the trio sonata isn't one of the examples given on the website. I know they obviously can't give every example of suitable submissions on there so just wanted to check whether this would be ok?
I applied to study music at Oxford. However, as I'm an international student, there are some things that got me a little bit confused concerning the written work that I have to submit. I am currently working on the essays, but what do they exactly mean by some example of harmony and counterpoint? I don't get it. Do they want exercises, or what exactly? I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Yeah just some basic exercises you may have done as part of your course, or for a theory exam (Grades 6-8), for them to assess how good/bad your harmony skills are and whether you are likely to need remedial lessons before or once you come up to Oxford
Just sent my written work off to Lincoln College! Does anyone know how long they take to get back to you? Also- do they contact you if you don't get an interview???

Not too sure how they do it now - I applied 9 years ago when everything was done via snail mail and I don't think there was any acknowledgement of the written work. You will def be contacted by Oxford at some point later in the month though, whether you get an interview or not

Thank you! I'll be checking my emails every 10 minutes for the next few weeks until I hear 😂
Wondering, got an email titled "Oxford Music Auditions" saying "Congratulations, you will have now heard from one of the colleges interviewing you in December".
But I haven't...
Anyone else in the same boat? Should I ask them or wait patiently?

Was it def from a music.ox.ac.uk email address? I wouldn't have thought you'd hear til much later on this month, though things may have changed. If it's a legit email address, I'd wait another week or so and if you haven't heard then, maybe forward it to Alec Sims (or whoever the Academic Administrator is these days) and ask?
