Did everyone else receive an email from the faculty?

The one from Alec Sims? If so, then yes.

Cool! Have you received an invitation from your college yet? I'm still waiting for a response :s-smilie: I'll send the form after I get the news

No, not heard from any college. Just the two emails from Alec Sims. I'm waiting to hear from college before sending anything off too, it says it needs to be there by 28th November so it should be okay. Even if the letter says "IMMEDIATELY" on it.

Yes, got an interview invite yesterday.

Emailed admissions about interviews clashing with auditions but they can't reschedule interviews -_-

Thank you!

Congratulations on yours too!

What do you play? Have you sent off your bits and pieces to the music faculty for your audition?

Any idea how you'll get around your clashes?

I'm not really an instrumentalist, nor will I ever be, but clarinet is my first instrument.

Guitar. Nope, I only need to send the form, no accompaniment music... I shall do that today...

No, RCM has now given me an audition on the 7th, but RAM is still on the 5th. So Oxford have me down as leaving on the 5th in the morning, which is affecting any other interview being arranged :'(.

Have any of you bought tickets/arranged travel? For what time?

I have a little bit of a problem regarding the interview arrival times. I am the leader of an orchestra and our concert is at 8:30pm on the 2nd December. But Merton have said that I should arrive by 8pm on the 2nd. I can probably get to Oxford by 11pm if I do the concert. :/

I don't know what to do- I don't really want to miss the concert and let the team down. Are there usually pre-interview meetings for music, the night before the interview? Would it look really bad if I turn up to Oxford really late? :s-smilie:

I'm by no means knowledgeable about this, but I don't think anything happens on the 2nd - I initially said I would arrive in the afternoon and was emailed to tell me to come as late as possible instead! I'm guessing they don't want you to be too late as you'll need to sign in etc...?

I'd phone the Admissions team and try and negotiate it with them. It's highly unlikely that anything is going to happen at/after 8pm, especially on the first evening of arrival. I did have an interview around that time when I was being interviewed in 2006 but that was just because I had to escape back to London for music college auditions

I haven't quite worked out how to get there and back yet. I only live 40 minutes away and my parents have offered to take me down, so it's just getting back. I possibly have the option of taking my car down and leaving it with some friends but I don't fancy walking from theirs to college with my clarinets relatively late at night.

I'm revising the As and A2 set works, reading the books which I've put on my personal statement, practicing lots of violin and planning out what to wear for the interviews
