d) Normal reaction increases (due to the loss of the tsin15 component)

Editing :P I got everything the same (I think) except for the time in 5c. I got 12+15+8 =35s!

b) weight of particle = 4.5N
I also got the same but it's the wrong answer ... when resolving forces // to the the string a we also had to take into account the value of the weight alongwith C.

Reckon i'll get around 70/75 ... lost marks in that 2 mark contact force increases/decreases question. And in that contact force question of the plane.

Hmm, I think the tension (536N) was worth 4 marks. The distance (54m) was either worth 2 or 3.

No, because only the horizontal plane is being considered.

For that question i said the weight was 9N cuz i thought that vertical component of C was included :confused:

I got the acceleration in 4b? to be 0.125ms-2

I used the exact values my calculator came up with and didn't round at all... How did you guys get 0.12? (Just wanna see if I'm wrong)

Got the same as lotello except for 5 (c), where I got 35 seconds

kavanne, I got .12 as I rounded from .124 ....

the maximum on the whole paper anyone can lose for significant figures is one mark, and I expect I will lose it somewhere.

To work out t, you could resolve horizontally- c is not needed.

Did anyone work out the tension for the other string (C), I didnt know which tension they were asking for,so I wrote both down...

Tensions were the same, because it was the same string? (connected in the middle)

it took me 2 attempts on the first question to realise that c was before b! lol. somehow screwed up some of the car and lorry question. it wasnt as bad as januarys exam. so im happy
