What error do you get?

First it says: "Connection failed. The server may not exist or is not operational at this time. Check the server name or IP address and your network connection and try again."

Then: "The Finder could not complete the operation because some data in 'smb://tiree.sms.ed.ac.uk/home/s09xxxxx' could not be read or written. (Error code -36)"

I can no longer access the M: Drive either :P

It was all working fine yesterday, but since they updated the website it has stopped working. I'm guessing some tiny setting has changed somewhere in the instructions that is stopping it...

If you follow the instructions then you will be able to access the university network from your home PC. So you can get your documents and stuff. That's all it is really.

for all the new applicants, or the current students who are still getting 'forbidden' messages from university websites.
