Is there much of a Dubstep/Drum & Bass scene in Pompey??

any venues with regular events? preferably big named artists but intoxicated it's all good

It hasn't been the same since they closed the Pier.... that was the ideal venue. (and pretty much the only place I would see Andy C; he used to play 2hours of pure dark dnb.... no wobble! So it meant that you saw him play a completely different set to the usual mixes he plays at just about every other event).

albert rd has good placs too!

oh yeah definatly!! they have big drum n bass/ dub nights in liquid every month or so with the likes of andyc, subscape, rusko, caspa, herve, n-type, benga, annie mac ... and then theres smallers nights in southsea that have had skream, high contrast.... and then there are a few pubs/bars in albert road that have dubstep djs every week.

theres a big scene in pompey!

ahh yeah thats a good place to pre drink...my flatmate DJ's there aswell

i've only been there a few times and it was good, however this year i'll be there quite a bit cause our house is near there too!

I'm just off Albert road too...so convenient :biggrin:. I've been to little johnny russells and it's alright, can feel a little claustrophobic though. I love a good Albert road pub crawl! How was Bestival?? I didn't go in the end :frown:

I didn't go because I couldn't get out of work but then I thought screw it, I work for a faceless corporation so they won't miss me + I'm going to uni in a couple of weeks so I might as well quit, by which time my spot to work bestival had been taken. By the time I'd managed to speak to a girl I know who works for the company that recruits people to work different festivals, I was ill and unprepared so I ended up doing eff all that weekend anyway :frown:. Ah well...next year! :biggrin: . Nice costume, i'm so jealous you got to go grr!
