Waaaah! I have lost my copy of Surgical Talk. I can't find it anywhere in my flat. I don't need it right now, but I will soon, and I spent good money on that damn book! I wonder if I lent it to any of my friends and forgot...?

i hve had the BEST week of medicine.

I have just started studying emergeny medicine so i have had 3 courses this week.

Monday i did a manual handling course

tuesday i did the ALERT course

Yesterday i did the ILS course.

I finally feel like i can go into a hospital a actively treat people (rather than talk nicley to them and make suggestions!)

I hope the next few months continues to prepare me for F1!

yey i have also had a very good day, seems my worries about bein in the bottom of rankings are getting less so now were into clinicals. just passed my osler, and even though I had the sternest old skool consultant and a deaf patient whos only symptom was shortness of breath (no cough, no pnd etc, no chest pain, not even a smoking history), i managed to get a merit somehow! yey, my first med school merit wooo.

now to celebrate officially being half way through the course hehe

I had a lame day. Nothing in the morning - did a bit of reading but that was it. Tried to go to clinic in the afternoon but got shooed away by nasty receptionist. I don't get why they give us a "timetable" for clinics when it's all wrong and changes every week anyway.

I filled in my claim form for the transplant I assisted with just before Christmas though, so at least I should be getting some money soon.

Jonni, sorry i missed the revisions session. I had to get back to manchester to sort out a ****-up with the useless excuse for a mail service we have in this country.

Don't worry, i'll be writing a stern letter to the Queen.

my day consisted of

9- 10:30 PBL.
12- 1 lecture
5:15- 6 lecture

and about a million hours in the library/cafe in between those. it would have been productive had i not been ridiculously hungover

haha no probs, there were a fair number there anyway, was actually quite useful as we managed to keep claire on topic for a change.

By the way I'm not intentionally trying to organise the sessions on tuesdays/thurs afternoons - when i know you aren't around - just seems to happen that way. Dr P is doing a talk next tue lunch on PD/stroke which should be good, but i'd forgotten about progress and didn't realise your group has pbhell that lunchtime - so dunno if there will be a great turn out
