Yer, at last count wifey and I had three daughters and two sons (I think).
Wow, we only get the two.Is it because of drop outs that you get so many? I'm going to get wasted on adoption night! It's going to be awesome and I'm going to help them so much.

We've done it for three years now, but yes a couple of them are adopted (or stolen ).

I am having an elective dilemma.

The place I really wanted to go to has sent a 'can we please have your admin fee cheque' email, with subsequent apology that they had forgotten to actually reply to let me know the outcome of my application in May but had just pencilled me in...

But I'd kind of resigned myself to not getting in there, so carried on looking & found something else completely different that I'd like to apply to, although it looks uber competitive, hmmm. :dontknow:

& ooh Spencer, which island & when?
Rarotonga - Jan and Feb '09.

My father never turned up and my mother, sister and I have hit the bottle ever since. Got a new father eventually after I got drunk and found my mums friend who then said he would adopt me.

Still can't believe people don't turn up for these things and abandon people. Probably the type who thinks that if they aren't always studying then they are going to fail.

We may meet - I'm Aitutaki February-March 2009 & sometimes they send us over with transfers to your 'big' hospital apparently! :p:
Excellent. We (my flatmate and I) actually finish our placement around Feb 20th I think, and then are going to do a bit of Island hopping, including that paradise that you'll be on.

The med school actually released our results a day early, a mere 20 hours after the exams finished.

I am a finalist!
A bit late, but congrats!!!

Thanks fluffs.

Elles - was it Aitutaki that have asked for an admin fee?
If that's the case, it surprises me - I was originally going there before I switched to Rarotonga and I didn't have to pay anything (though i arranged it through the office of the prime minister, which may have helped).

I'm quite tempted to merge all the threads on GCSEs into the angst thread/close threads and redirect. Any objections?

That aside, 4 weeks library based SSC coming up. :s:

No - that's re. the 2nd half that I'm trying to sort now.
Primary Care in Australasia v. clinical/research sub-specialty in North America with a scary application process that I might not get. Hmmm.

You've met Sooty, has she never tried to bite a chunk out of your arm?

Oooh, ooh can I join? Even though I'm not reeeally a medic next year, as I'm intercalating. And this society probably isn't too healthy for my state of mind, as you clinical people (and actual doctors) are FREAKING ME OUT.
Yup last time i checked intercalaters are allowed :p: I was here last year throughout mine (though posting less because it made me miss it too much)

Did anyone watch that Robert Winston program with the doctor conducting the ward round it was very strange
