I thought so but couldn't be sure. It's all the London ones I got really confused with!
Well, she is! She's told me enough times, it was bound to stick eventually lol.

And yeah, Londoners are confusing in general :p:. The only one I know of is theredsox - she's at King's.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think I'm more than ready to start my next year. This summer has been a lot of fun and rather adventurous, but I feel it's time to get on with ****. I can't wait.

Nothing special I can see. I'll be showing up on the first morning to take some of the n00bs (not you, you're not in my group) around the place. And at some point you'll get taken out for a meal with your new parents, but I don't know who they'll be yet. The rest of it is pretty unexciting.

So tired! But i'm still loving work. But why do some SHOs think that a potassium of 2.7 isn't something to get worried about?

We had tht when i was on call the other week. A senior doctor was called to a post op patient who had been scoring on the EWS all day with low BP, tachycardia and poor U/O. He had been given fluids to help correct the hypovolaemia but no one had done a Hb...when it was done at 1am it was 4...The doctor wasn't happy and i was pretty glad i wasn't the junior looking after tht pt!

I need people's opinions:

I have to chose whether I get MBBS(Lond) or MBBS(UCL). Which should I chose?

Does it matter? We're forever telling applicants it doesn't matter if it's MBBS/MBChB etc. I'd probably go for the London one though, if only to avoid unnecessary bias if one of your future interviewers (or something) went to one of the rivals...

I'd go with the UCL.I would assume, and so may others, that an MBBS would be from a London University. Thus you may as well differentiate between them all and say which one you went to.

Personally, I'd like to show a wee bit of pride for mine but I don't know if the Scottish Uni's let you have the abbreviation at the end as I don't recall my sisters' using it.

Possibly not the reasoning you were looking for, suspect you may have meant rep wise?, but hope it helps.

edit: Helenia et all, is rivalry a big issue?

My instinct would be to go for London. Although I have no "yay, UCL!" loyalty which I might have had I gone there, so if you do then that would sway towards that. I had no idea that MBBS's tend to be London!

Maybe we need a TSR Poll, for some really informed opinions?

Neither did I, just sort of assumed they did and according to wiki Imperial and the University of London offer them so... kind of right?

They were all MBBS(Lond) until Imperial and UCL got permission to award their own degrees in 2005 and so now there's MBBS(Lond), MBBS(Imperial) and MBBS(UCL).

I'm leaning in part towards UCL, because I have been here for nearly 6 years, and so there's some loyalty there, but of course it doesn't mention the Royal Free or Middlesex, both of which are steeped in medical history, and Lond pays homage to that.
I do already have BSc(Lond), so maybe I should complete the set.

Of course in the grand scheme of things it doesn't make a bit of difference, and at least I have the choice, the kids in the years below me don't get to chose, they will all have MBBS(UCL).
