lol, I did do Further pure math 1 today, which wasn't bad.

I've done Core 2, and I've got statistics in 2 days. (S1 and S2)
I did it and, no bragging intended, I think I seriously owned it, possibly getting around 95%, while the rest of my mates were complaining about it. It was fun watching the world move on as I sat for half an hour after finishing it, and I was cracking up in it as one of the invigilators proclaimed in a loud voice, "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, you have five minutes left.
I did it and found bits either really easy (eg multiplying out brackets) or really hard...and I was thinking towards the end, "Oh no! I'm predicted A* for Maths and I'm gonna fail my exam!" but then I counted the marks I THINK I would have got (ie adding up all the marks for what i found easy or might have got working-out marks for) and it was around 65/100 so now I'm thinking...maybe I didn't do TOO badly (65% I would usually consider to be quite low but aren't the grade boundaries quite low for Maths - OCR? If anyone knows them - they're not on the OCR site I don't think - I'd appreciate it)...

You know that last question at the end...the trig graphs...were the answers just angles? I got 310degrees and 410degrees for the first one and I can't remember for the second...but it was another 2 angles - did you guys get anything similar?

MissSurfer
1 of them was 320 and 400 i think and the other was 140 and 220 or something like that

Oh good....I probably got it roughly right then! Hopefully definitely right though (obviously...)
I was so proud that I finally undersood surds and indices in the exam for the first time ever. That's the result of cramming warping my mind.
I even got the one which was something like this

n²(n+1)(n+7) = n²(n+1)²
6 4

did you get 1/42 for that probability question for the name 'Dee'
and also did you get a very small triangle in the bottom left area for those three inequalities

do you guys have any tips for maths revision of more complicated topics? i have paper 2, higher tier, ocr next wednesday, and i have done NO revision yet, as i've been concentrating on other subjects...
sit down for some books for a few days there is no short cut

Those sound about right, but it was definitely 3 angles for the first question (it was worth 3 marks, and the second was worth two - they wanted you to state the obvious and put 50° in as well )

no, sorry, it was 1/14, (canceled down from 36/502) and the are for the inequalities was pretty big...

oh good.
i stated the obvious
that's one thing i'm good at!!

quite sure it was 1/42

2/9*3/8*2/7=12/504=1/42

2/9*3/8*2/7=12/504=1/42

nah cos there were 3 possible ways she could get the letters. D E E, or E D E, E E D. the answer was 3 times 1/42. so 1/14

naah it was 1/21
i counted all the different possiblities and got
p=6(1/9*1/8*1/7)
=6(1/504)
=6/504
=1/84

I looked at it as there were 6 different possible ways to spell DEE
D1,E1,E2
D1,E1,E3
D1,E2,E3
D2,E1,E2
D2,E1,E3
D2,E2,E3

all have a p of 1/9*1/8*1/7

although I think that might be wrong as it didn't say how the cards were chosen so I'm not sure if that was right.

Hey, i'm a bit worried cus i actually found that paper impossible, harder than the practice ones we had done! as far as the DEE thing went i got 36/504, but it took me ages and i used up the whole page trying to work it out! Should i have rounded it, cus i never do cus i'm scared that i'll make a mistake wen rounding! I got 320 and 400 for the first and 140 and 220 for the second. I hated that volume question about the cone thing and in the end got 105Pie, what did everyone else get? I also forget the units, cus i'm not that smart!

Anyone know what percentage roughly is the A?
