Goldsmid House

I just hear that i got accommodation in Goldsmid house. Is it any good? havent checked it out but haven't heard much about it either. My real concern is that it is quite far from the main campus.

I stayed there last year. Lovely halls (only a year old now).

Large kitchens with ample space and medium-sized rooms, all ensuite. The ensuite bathrooms are tiny and very plastic, but vastly better than the likes of Ramsay Hall, who's shared toilets/showers are hideous.

The rooms have a wardrobe, bedside table with drawers, desk with drawers, three bookshelves above the desk, wastepaper basket, TV point, Ethernet point and plenty of power sockets (although they are all by the desk). The beds are reasonably comfy. The ensuite bathrooms have a tiny but powerful shower, toilet and a very tiny washbasin. A toilet brush is included. :yep:

Kitchens have fridges, freezers, oven, hob, microwaves, table and chairs, ironing board etc. You will need your own cooking utensils.

The manager of Goldsmid House is a really helpful lady. The only downside is the distance from halls. You will need to buy a monthly Zones 1-2 travelcard, which costs around £70 with a student photocard. The halls are about a 2 minute walk from Victoria station, then a 10 minute tube journey and a 5 minute walk from either Warren Street or Euston tube stations at the other end. Peak rush hours can be pretty horrid.

Enjoy your time at Goldsmid House!
