You defiantly need to take any qualification you have.

It entirely depends on what the access course is for and where it is.

I highly doubt you'll need your certificates for an interview.

I have an interview for the Access course on Tuesday. What will I be asked? Do I need to take my qualification certificates? And will there be an exam? I have read that some people have tests before they are accepted onto the course but there has been no mention of it.

Thanks

During my interview I had to do an English test and a basic maths test, dont panic they were really easy. The tests were just so the college could get our levels and see where we were with our English and maths.

Good Luck

Yeah mine was the same, they gave me a little talk about the course and then a basic comprehension test, nothing too difficult. I think you have to be pretty stupid to not get on an access course!!

lol thanks everyone.

The Access course is at a further education college, and I haven't been able to specify the pathway yet, though they led me to believe, on their open evening, that they were flexible with the options they offered (I'd like to do biology and psychology at level 3 (which according to a table they gave out at the open evening, was possible) ... would this be the Science pathway?

I was asked to take any certificates I already had to the interview.
The interview wasn't too question based, mainly talking about the course.

We were given Literacy and Numeracy tests during induction week at our college and that was to assess which level you were at. Anyone who wasn't Level 2 were offered the opportunity to go to another class to up their levels at the same time as doing their Access course. Three of the guys on my course did this, because they needed Level 2 as a minimum for uni.

The tests themselves were very straightforward and not at all designed to feel like a test/exam. For us, they were done on computer. Basic maths and english really.

Good luck :gthumb:
