Certificate in Accounting (B680)

Hi there..

So to cut a long story short my degree plans (of studying Accounting & Finance) didn't go as well as I'd hoped...and after 2 years at uni I am leaving. Not by choice. I'm trying to find a decent way of getting myself into the Accountancy career ladder without a degree, or via the fastest means possible.

I've had a look at studying the Certificate in Accounting, and was wondering if there was anyone on here who has studied it/is studying this module? If you are and could provide with any info it'd be much appreciated: Such as; is the course really as difficult as people make out on the Open Uni website? Or would I be ok considering I've done a couple of years of a degree already?

Also...what kinds of topics are studied? I know there's three "branches" as it were - Financial, Management and one other...but that's about it.

Any extra info that could be provided would be amazing!! Also, is this course respected? Or would I be better going down the AAT route and trying to get into doing my accounting qualifications that way?

Sorry about all the questions - I'm just really trying to sieve through my options in alot of detail so I know that I end up making the right decision! :o:
The last presentation of this course starts in September and registration is closed so you have missed out on it.

The ACA do some sort of certificate which takes a year and you can it do distance learning and do the exams pretty much whenever you like which may be suitable for you but then you will need to find employment straight after that year (so if you cant get a paid job look for free work experience whilst your doing the certificate so a firm will be more likely to take you on when you hvae finished it). You may be able to use some of your uni modules as exemptions.

You could also use the credit transfer method with your previous uni study and count it towards a business studies with accounting degree at the OU.
