I'm feeling ever so slightly ill at the moment, was just wondering if there are any fellow lactose sufferers out there? and if anyone has any tips on dealing with, really painful stomach cramps, nausea, headaches, diahorrea, kidney pain which all go hand in hand with lactose intollerance? any help would be gratefully appreciated. :frown: :frown:

Are you lactose intolerant, or have Crohns disease, or both..?
Cos the two often go together, but its the Crohns thats causes most of the symptoms...

I have crohn's and researchers have been trying to link the cause of it to drinking cows milk when you're young, or something. I'm very used to lots of pain in my bowel/stomach etc. so I sympathise with you.

im not sure hmm but i have to watch my dairy intake now cos a few months ago if i drank too much milk or had too much cheese i'd get bad stomach aches and dare i say it.. diahorrea aah was awful!
now i restrict myself, say if im having a bit of cheese i wont have any milk and if i have a bowl of cereals i avoid dairy the rest of the day.. its the only way! went to the docs and all but they didnt listen to me grr

yeh, one line of thought is that it might be due to a bug called Mycobacterium Paratuberculosis (a bit like a weak TB) that cows often have. But they've also tried attaching it to god knows what, including MMR  .

basic story - unpleasant often lifelong diseases. :frown:

Nope never tried them but probably will do! Thanks for the info
I know lactose intolerance is usually something you grow INTO, but i'm strange and weird person (i know...hush it  ) and i actually grew OUT of it.

i was lactose intolerant when i was a baby, and i had to stay in the hospital for a week to be on a drip. so i pretty much grew up with congee and stuff more than milk. then i got a bit older and i gradually was fine, and for the next 10 years i drank milk everyday till i got sick of it.

now i can drink milk without any problems...but i still ahve a very very sensitive digestive system towards most food and have to be careful about my diary product consumption.

*finishes off my cup of milk*
