The government of the localities was decentralised to the office of the local officals however they were restricted by the centralised system of the law.
I finished with about 5 mins to go, so I took my time too but I know what you mean!
I'm really hoping I get a chance to go to interview and win back any favour I lost in the exam/on my essay :P Being eliminated at all would probably suck I think though
Ah well that doesn't sound to bad! I actually didn't get to rly finish my answer for Question 2. I just wrote like half a page or what..I just talked like the "very basic" concept cuz I literally had like 10 minutes left to read the source and write.
I spent like way much time on 1c. I hope that made it up..seriously I always suffer this thing of running out of time, got to hate it
And yeah, i rly want the interview, cuz our class wrote no essays that were less than 2000 words as an hw assignment so i had to send one i wrote during a mock IB exam i need to make my impression in the interview !
Anybody here felt like they were running short on time? I know it was two hours, but i really didn't spend so much time on the second source. First source was fine. Not too difficult to go through. I just spent too much time trying to perfecting the first question, which made me spend much less time on the second one. Gah I'm worried if that's going to put me in the 20% Being eliminated after the HAT would be hard to go through, i think
I completely ran out of time and messed up. I didn't even think it was a hard paper, but Spent like 40 minutes on reading the first document and answering 1a, and then was just like "WHAAAA?! How is that the time?" Rushed the essay and native american bit like crazy, didn't answer 1b properly. FAIL. Definitely in bottom 20 %. I've got good exam record, hoping they're not going to reject me on HAT alone. And yeah, agree, getting rejected after interview would be fine... not being offered an interview would be URRRGGGGHHH. Chocolate time.
Hi I'm applying to New College, for History. Surprisingly, I'm not THAT nervous for the HAT, more so for the essay I have to send in...which I'm writing on the causes of the 1905 Russian Revolution, because it's the most relevant topic to what I'm currently studying at school (Russia, synoptic paper 1855-1964...). However we haven't got up to 1905 yet (currently just started Nicholas II), so I am having to do lots of reading in the next week or so to get myself up to scratch...then send it in. Do you know if we get told where/when to send it, or do we just contact the college directly? I also find it daunting that we've not TECHNICALLY had to register for the HAT...knowing my luck the paper won't appear at my school, haha, seeing as I'm the only one sitting it!
Are you doing IB history? Cuz i did the exact same topics as you did in my year 1 class! I sent in my essay on Alexander II and his assassination :P

OMG Same HERE. Idk i didn't the the questions were hard, and i was just rly surprised by how much time i spent on fixing and fixing what I wrote. I thoguht I could finish 1c in like 20 minutes, which took longer. So yeah Question 2, I rly rly rly rushed it, I didnt write..like even a page...ah i internally cried in class lol :P
Yeah being rejected at the pre-interview thing is the last thing I want to suffer from. Ah I dont kno how im going to handle waiting like this, altho my gut feeling is rly bad now
There was a canoe mentioned in Question 2?! What?!
Yeah, she talked about how she's raised incredible warriors, hunters, and makers of canoes. Thinking about it now, this probably indicated the importance of canoes, but it seemed a bit of a funny list to me...
I thought it went okay. Really liked question 2 but wasn't sure on the long essay but just have to wait and see. Which colleges have people applied to. I've applied to Brasenose
I'm also applying to Brasenose
I plodded through the paper really, my answers were mediocre at best, pretty clunky. I think my essay for 1c) was strong though, so I hope a high mark for that answer will balance out the spectacularly average remainder of my paper...
