sore throat=stress?

So i've had a really sore throat for about a week...not to mention my limbs keep seizing up (sign of stress) and i was told that the sore thraot could be diue to stress? Is this true? and if so how do i get rid of it? i have my first exam on friday and i'm feeling really crappy and am taking a lot of pain relief.

also could it be due to hayfever? in which case is there any hayfever releif that doesn't make you drowsy (falling asleep in exams=baaaaaad)

thanx

It could be a number of things really - i mean even down to tonsilitis. I dont really know how to help but Perhaps see a GP?

Yep, drink lot's of water and eat healthily - things like pasta are good.

Just be well fed and watered

thanx..tho eating kind of hurts :s

maybe its to do with your immune system being lower when you're stressed

Robinsons Black Current or Orange with boiling water might help.

Eat some oranges too - Vitamin C etc....

Try soup. Leave it to cool a little though if it hurts that much. I dunno......might an ice pack help?

if you take throat things or hayfeaver things it may be an idea to take flavoured water into the exam with out.... the dodgey disgusting super water from lucazade can be a life saver ..... well it was for me when i had an ict exam with the flu... lmao

zirtek shouldn't make you sleepy if you want an antihistimine. Or you could try gargling with aspirin.
hot honey and lemon is meant to be good... never tried it

if your a smoker the best thing to do tho is smoke dried lavender

wouldn't stopping smoking be better?
i don't know cause i dont smoke
but people who i know who do smoke says lavender does throats great..
i blame passive smoke

i was fine till i was sat with my mates (who all smoke) in the pub last friday >.<

I had a recurring sore throat last year which I found out after going to the doctor was due to mild acid reflux in my stomach. Acid Reflux is usually caused by stress and can be aggrevated by spicy and acidic foods. Go to the otolaryngologist(ear, nose, and throat doctor) and get yourself checked out.

thanx i think i will (how dya pronouce that????)
heya, i get the same thing every time i am stressed! i end up with a sore throat and then it turns into full blown tonsilitis (sp) even though i have had my tonsils out...twice!!!
but i find that comomile tea with lashings and lashings of honey is very soothing and it is non drowsy and it acts as a natural numbing agent!!
Ecinachia drops in a bottle of water also waorks to help you feel better throughout exams, especially when you put a bit extra in, it kinda makes you lightheaded and focuses your concentration on the exam and only the exam, i have it everyday to help me concentrat!
hope you feel better soon!!
I have had a really sore throat for ages as well, it comes and goes , but pretty much every couple of fays for the fast few weeks, i vagely mentioned it to my gp and she just said "ibrupofen will do come back if it hasn't gone in a few months!" I never thought it coudl be down to stress. I also seem to have put on laods of weight, well should i say fat cause my weight hasnt changed that much but i know im bigger , if that makes sence.feel all fat n hideous n shizzle :frown: Maybe thats down to snacking but i don't think i am doing that anymore than usual. I tried taking hayfever tablets they stop some sneezing, but i still sneeze in the mornings O.o and didnt affect my throat.

anyway to wrap this all up i am whinging.. I know what its like to have a bad throat and not be sure where it has come from :frown:
