Time (T) that customers have to wait to get their cinema tickets has following prob dens func:

f(t) = t²/18 0<t<3
f(t) = ¼(5-t) 3<t<5
f(t) = 0 otherwise

calculate the mean time that customers have to wait in order to collect their tickets.

i know the mean is ∫xf(x) limits a and b and i've worked this out for t²/18 and ¼(5-t) but am i supposed to add them, multiply them or do i not even use this idea? anyone help?

Integrate over [0, 3] and [3, 5] and add the answers.
