Hair Removal

Okay, summer holidays are coming up, which for some means long days lying out in the sun (with sun protection obviously) with not much on. I'm finding it hard to find the best hair removal product, so i thought if we all rate the ones we have used/tested, then maybe we can find which ones work best. Rating each of the ones you have tried out of how long it keeps hair away, and how smooth it makes your legs in the first place.

Venus razor (razor)

Philips Moi Wet & Dry Ladyshave (electric shaver)

Babyliss Simply Smooth (exfoliator)

Philips Satin Ice Optima Epilator (epilator)

Veet Ready To Use Wax Strips (wax)

Body Shop Sugar (sugar)

Veet Rasera Bladeless Kit, Aloe Vera (bladeless razor)

Veet Hair Removing Cream (hair removal cream)

Nair Easy Wax (peel off)

You can add ones you've tried. Which do you think is the best for keeping hairs away longest? Least painful? Smoothest finish?

go for the wax if you want to keep hairs away for the longest. it hurts a bit and does give a great finish. things like razors and creams tend to be two days max!
wax all the way! but the only downer is you have to wait for it to grow back.. unless you use the wax that works of short hairs
Veet Rasera Bladeless Kit, Aloe Vera (bladeless razor)-Very messy to use but Good for legs. The result lasted long enough to allow me to go away on a drama course for 5 days and then go straight to a wedding...I have quite sensitive skin too but it was fine. No horrible effects on my skin from using it

Venus razor (razor) - Use it all the time for legs and underarms an v. occasionally bikini line (although its a bit too sensitive there for it). keeps hairs away for a few days at the most (although mine seem to grow pretty quick)

Veet Hair Removing Cream (hair removal cream) - I'd never use it for legs as it'd take far to long, or for underarms as its too fiddly. It smells, horrible!!!!! But, i use it for bikini line as it seems the thing that works the best for me. I have no reaction to it, and it last for up to a week (dependant on the area its used)

I've not tried any others, although i'd like to try those veet wax strips and the nair hair removable stuff.

I just shave.

and well, I hate it. I can't do it every day because it burns like hygeine. I'm looking into that pink "nair" stuff

any ideas how much that stuff costs? overdraft is looming

using information I gathered in another thread I'm thinking she means the first one...

Has anyone tried that Nair peel off wax? I think it costs about £7-8, but don't know if it works.
Venus razor (razor) - um, doesn't last very long, not painful though (virtually impossible to cut yourself with, because if you could, I would have, I'm clumsy )

Philips Moi Wet & Dry Ladyshave (electric shaver): Doesn't really make skin feel smooth, to me at least.

Philips Satin Ice Optima Epilator (epilator): One word: Ow.

Veet Ready To Use Wax Strips (wax) Ow. But not so bad as the epilator. At least one huge amount of pain removes loads of hair, rather than the slow drawn out process of epilating.

Veet Rasera Bladeless Kit, Aloe Vera (bladeless razor). Nice, but doesn't last long.

Veet Hair Removing Cream (hair removal cream) Smells funny. Doesn't last long.

I shave, epilate and wax. I dont bother with the hair removing cream or bladeless kit thing because I dont see the point and apparebtly using cream too much can make your skin a bit darker

Venus razor: I like it. It leaves the skin smooth and the one I use has moisturising strips either side of the blades.

Philips Moi Wet & Dry Ladyshave: Like ambellina said its ok but doesnt leave the skin smooth.

The Philips Satin Ice Optima Epilator: certainly very painful but I like that you can use it on short hair and the regrowth is soft and downy.

Veet Ready To Use Wax Strips: not bad. Still painful and can irritate sensitive skin but I use gentle formula ones.

Veet Ready To Use Wax Strips (wax) - Just used these right now. I'm using the ones suitable for bikini line/underarms/facial and i tested it for the bikini line. They're very easy to use and an idea size for that area. I found however that they weren't particular efficient and I couldn't remove all the hair with them, i'm sure that'll come with practise however (i'm a bit of a wax virgin!). Hopefully the effects will last for a while, and i've not reacted to them (yet anyway?!), so i'd say they're pretty good

I've found they don't work at all - quite the opposite

I thought shaving made the hair grow back thicker and faster.

i would use the wax strips...havent tried nair easy wax thats next onme list.....waxing is quite easy and its really that painful on your legs however...bikini line is a nightmare (for me it is anyways....) it leaves a smooth finish and lasts up to 2 weeks and the hairs grow back thinner and lighter as well xoxo
