Being followed by security in shops

Just went to town and popped into Superdrug - their security guard is in plain clothes and decided to follow me around the shop (2nd time he's done this on my visit to the store). After getting fed up, I jus got one thing, purchased it and left. Went to my OWN work place (Asda) to have a quick browse and security decided to follow me around the shop - even radio'ing through to his ''lil mate'' to follow me on the CCTV. So I went to the chilled section to look at something. I came back the way I had came and the security guy was following me still - so I politely stopped him and asked him about the security staff entrance door thingy which ''apparently'' is still broken!! I did this to make him aware that I actually do work for the store. Funnily enough, he left me alone and went on the prowl to follow someone else!

Now I am just wondering out of curiosity - has anyone else ever been followed around a shop/s like a hawk???? Did you say anything to them???

Maybe, just maybe, there is a magnet on your bum and a magnet on their nose. Maybe. Just maybe.

This has happened to me in Superdrug before. They could make it a bit LESS OBVIOUS. I know they're only doing their job and want to prevent people stealing but it just puts me off buying anything in their shop.

HAHAHA v v funny! Idiot! Oh yea my manager knows about that incident - she isn't bothered!

I get this all the time. When i notice they're doing it, i'll frequently stop and kneel down to pretend to look around in my bag, then just wander in circles for a bit.

Maybe you just look like a thief
Na but security guards have followed me about before. Its not a very comfortable thing to have done, but they are just doing the jobs. Last time it happened I was going for an interview in that store...
Lets face it security guards have a pretty boring job though, so I suppose they need something to do.

Yeah, I've had this happen to me all too often with security guards. Once some random lady actually tried to perform a citizens arrest on me because she thought I had been stealing when I hadn't at all . C'est la vie, I suppose... the bastards.

Yea its v v off putting. I was looking at the Barry M nail polish and they put them on the bottom shelf. So I had no option, but to crouch down to look at them. The security guard came and stood right next to me, even crouching down and watching my every move. I got up and he was following me like a hawk around the whole shop. That happened 2months ago. Today the same thing happened - apart from I was looking at the facial products and skin creams whilst he was stood looking at the Durex, pretending to be on his phone and watching me from the corner of his eye. I was going to do a big shop, but I decided not to, got a lil pot of cream, purchased it and left. I am v v tempted next time to say something, but I will jus bite my lip and leave it as I know he has a job to do. But still . . . .

Erm, well only round small corner shops, they don't take kindly to me and my tracksuit and cap, they think I must be some sort of "chav" type character.

Followed round Asda though? Wow, that's like a giant supermarket? Haven't they got better things to do!
