Would 6 As, 3 Cs and a D have any chance anywhere? And having AAB at A levels?

Can OP edit their post with the unis in it now. I'm interested in this too cos I only have 2A*,7A and 2B.

If you do well on the BMAT maybe UCL or Imperial? Or any of the UKCAT unis if you do well on the UKCAT and aren't GCSE fiends.

Well maybe for those particular universities, but for some unis, GCSEs are very important for medicine. Also, St Andrews for example say that they view your academics (includes GCSEs and GCEs) as being more important than your PS and UKCAT.

thats why my initial post said 'most med schools' and not 'all med schools'. :p:

Basic maths: 9+9+15=33!!
And the average score is no way near 23- it is more like 15-17. 19 is considered a competitive score.

Oh dear God, a typo! With all that effort I put into providing as much info as I could! I should be ashamed

The 0 is nowhere near the 3!
Plus you said that 23 is an average score, which is just plain wrong- 23 is considered a very high score. An average score is usually around 15-17. I don't know where you got 23 from....

I did say I know nothing about the BMAT. I got one fact wrong about the average. I was trying to provide as much info as possible, and I accidently wrote 30 as opposed to 33. I said they're out of 9, 9 and 15 and I'm not so stupid I thought that added up 30. Clearly you never make any mistakes, so I'm very sorry for all the anguish I've caused you.

I'm sorry if I seemed a bit harsh, its just there are so many people who post false information that it annoys me, and confuses applicants. Everyone makes mistakes, I only took issue because of your average=23 remark, which is misleading.

Okay. I genuinely didn't mean to be misleading, I could've sworn I read 23 somewhere. I just got really arsey because I've written so much stuff in my posts in this thread and I made one mistake :p:. I'm sorry I flew off the handle.

I think that 23 may have been postulated at some point as an automatic offer from somewhere.

Hello guys, i know this has been talked about to death but i cant seem to find a good thread on it that answers my questions.

Which unis place a lot of emphasis on GCSEs and which ones do not?
I only ask this because the pnly thng letting me down is the number of GCSEs (6A*s 1A and 1/2 a B:s-smilie: ). Straight As at AS with biology at 296/300.

Which unis look at AS more than GCSEs so i have a better chance of getting in? work experience is more than decent.

If you look in that thread with the big green title at the top of the medicine subforum you will find a link to a table of different medical schools GCSE requirements.
